Through a series of initiatives resulting from dialogue and collaboration with Italian and international institutions and bodies dealing with training, The Torino Film Festival promotes a composite program of events that focus on film culture as a fundamental tool for personal growth. The program is curated by Daniele De Cicco.
A movie theater for the school
From the dialogue with the Fondazione per la Scuola della Compagnia di San Paolo comes the project “Torino Film Festival e Riconnessioni. A movie theater for school”. Thanks to the fiber-optic network and the network of schools of Reconnections, on the occasion of the Torino Film Festival on 25 November there will be a virtual meeting between two young directors and students from numerous schools in Turin and the province, that can interact at a distance by talking directly with the artists.
The documentary La scuola prossima by Alberto Momo, produced by Zomia with the contribution of the Foundation for the School of the Compagnia di San Paolo, is also presented in preview. On Mymovies Wednesday, November 25 for 48 hours. A meeting is dedicated to the movie, it will be available on Youtube from Thursday 26 to 14.
Talents for the Fundraising
From January 2021 two students of the 2020 edition of the high-level training course Talenti per il Fundraising organized by the CRT Foundation, will be included as interns in the staff of the National Cinema Museum and the Torino Film Festival.
Outside the Competition, the movie show L’anfora di Clio by Mario Acampa and Riccardo Alessandri, produced by the CRT Foundation and the Perosi Academy Foundation, is also presented as a preview. On Mymovies Tuesday, November 24 for 48 hours. The film is dedicated to a meeting that will be available on Youtube from Wednesday 25 to 14.
Two Italian film schools curated by Luigi Barletta
Numerous professionals have trained at film schools such as the New York Film Academy, the School of Łódź, the UCLA of Los Angeles or the VGIK of Moscow, making them famous all over the world. In the program of online events two meetings dedicated to two important Italian film schools:
Monday, November 23 at 14 on Youtube meeting dedicated to the Alfonso Casanova State Institute of Naples.
Tuesday, November 24 at 14 on Youtube, a meeting dedicated to the National School of Cinema of the Experimental Center of Cinematography – based in Palermo, directed by Costanza Quatriglio.
Short Films International Film Schools
In the Out of Competition, there is also a special program (available on Mymovies from Saturday, November 21 for 48 hours) that presents a selection of short films produced and made within major international film schools. Check out all the titles scheduled here
Xké. The laboratory of curiosities
In this strange year, for the first time, Xké? The curiosity laboratory organizes and carries out an activity open to all that crosses the cinema with visual perception. Will be proposed experiences and reflections related to the sense of sight extrapolated from an educational path structured in several stages, aimed at primary and secondary schools of grade I: activities and games to ask questions, curious in the name of scientific rigor. The activity will be available on Youtube from Friday 27 to 14.
