42ndTFF – Three female Presidents

Margaret Mazzantini, Roberta Torre, and Michela Cescon will chair the juries of the competitions of this year’s Torino Film Festival: Feature Film Competition, Documentary Competition, and Short Film Competition, respectively. Festival Director Giulio Base gave the news as he also announced the names of all the other prestigious jurors.

The members of the three juries – each with their own personal expertise and authority – are a fitting representation of the Italian and international cultural and film panorama, with a careful eye on the traditions of the seventh art and, at the same time, on its new languages and declensions.

The jury of the Feature Film Competition is formed by:

  • Margaret Mazzantini, author, playwright, and screenwriter;
  • Milcho Manchevski, a macedonian movie director;
  • Anne Parillaud, french actress;
  • Giovanni Spagnoletti, movie critic and a former professor of ‘’film history and critique’’;
  • Krzysztof Zanussi, a Polish authors, movie director and screenwriter;

The Documentary Competition is chaired by:

  • Roberta Torre, , documentary film maker;
  • KD Davison, American film maker;
  • Federico Gironi, journalist, author, film critic, and co-curator of the Venezia Classici section of the Venice International Film Festival.

The Short Film Competition will be chaired by:

  • Michela Cescon, actress;
  • Darko Perić, serbian actor;
  • Nicola Nocella, italian acort.
