Tomorrow, November 30th, inside the Aula del Tempio of the Mole Antonelliana, the Stella della Mole Award will be assigned to Malcolm McDowell, guest of honor of the 40th Torino Film Festival.
This is the motivation for the awarding of the Prize:
In his long career, Malcolm McDowell has starred in 270 films, leaving an indelible sign in all of them. He made his debut in 1968 playing Mick Travis in If by Lindsay Anderson becoming immediately the representative of a rebellion that would characterise many of his subsequent performances.
The audience will always identify him with Alex DeLarge in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange, but his fame as a versatile actor is linked to the most diverse films, from Paul Schrader’s Cat People to Sunset by Blake Edwards, from Mortacci by Sergio Citti, to Robert Altman’s The Players and Rob Zombie’s Halloween. Among the many awards he was honoured with, in 2005 he received the Nastro d’argento europeo for David Grieco’s Evilenko.
